Altai Republic Christmas tree: myths and legends that take your breath away
The nature of fantastic beauty, incredible natural riches, ethno-cultural diversity, ancient legends about miracles - all this is reflected in the New Year decoration of the fir tree of the Golden Land.
This is how Altai is called in ancient legends.
The name of the region comes from a beautiful legend about the origin of this land. According to the legend, in ancient times, when the creation of the world had just begun, the Ruler of all things decided to give his creatures a paradise on earth. So he summoned his assistants - Deer, Cedar and Falcon - and told them to find the Golden Land, a place where abundance, happiness and harmony would reign. This place became Altai. In translation from Mongolian "altan" means "gold".
The designers tried to reflect the incredible beauty and richness of their land as much as possible. The decorations feature wooden sculptures shaped like symbolic creatures and spirits. The craftsmen made decorative panels with images of the region, as well as felt products in the shape of traditional houses of the Altai people - "kiis-ail" (felt house, yurt).
