Unique Tsaritsyn toys decorated the New Year tree of the Volgograd region
The decoration of the Volgograd region fir tree uses the products of a fairly young art craft "Tsaritsyn Toys", which was founded in 2008. The name of the company comes from the historical name of the city of Volgograd - Tsaritsyn - the city of the Queen of Heaven.
The company needed the help of historians and culturologists to design its toys.
Most of the toys in the assortment are sold unpainted, so that the child can express his imagination in coloring, as well as get acquainted with the texture of the wood on a tactile level.
Each rattle is assembled by hand and then filled with buckwheat grains. This is a very labor-intensive technique - no more than twenty of these toys are made per day.
On the Main Alley of VDNH visitors are greeted by 89 New Year trees, each of them representing a region of the country.
The RUSSIA EXPO is open from Tuesday through Sunday, Monday is a technical day. The best time to visit is in the mornings and weekdays, but the exposition is open to everyone on weekends as well. All expositions and events are free of charge.
During the all-Russian survey "What does the Motherland begin with?", people across the country are answering this question in their own way, opening up the innermost corners of their souls.
Souvenir nevalyashkas (traditional Russian roly-poly dolls), are attracting particular attention, with guests choosing them for their harmonious combination of Russian colour and traditional Chinese symbols.
Under the guidance of artisans, each guest made an unusual souvenir that can become either a personal talisman or a gift with a special story.
