"New Year Trees of Russia" will be planted in the Rostokino Aqueduct Park
On April 20, a Saturday "Spruce Alley" event ("subbotnik") will be held in the Rostokino Aqueduct Park. During the event, the spruce trees which decorated the RUSSIA EXPO all winter will be planted in the park.
Earlier, the unique project "New Year Trees of Russia" was carried out at the exposition — 90 live blue spruce trees were placed on the Main Alley of VDNH. 89 of them symbolize the regions of the Russian Federation, and one more spruce — the RUSSIA EXPO itself. On November 16, they were decorated for the New Year in accordance with the traditions and culture of all regions of Russia. All fir trees that will be planted in the Rostokino Aqueduct Park will have information signs with details on how the spruces were decorated on the Main Alley of the exposition.
New Year trees-symbols of the regions were decorated with garlands, the length of which amounted to 36 kilometers — this is the same length as the length of the Russian capital from the southern to the northern border of the city. A total of 360 thousand bulbs burned on all New Year trees.
More than 50 people will take part in the event. Among them are employees of the Exposition Directorate and VDNH, representatives of the Federal Agency for Forestry, the Prefecture of Moscow's North-Eastern Administrative District and volunteers.
The blue spruce trees are a gift to the RUSSIA EXPO from the Federal Agency for Forestry. They came from the Moscow region, where they had been carefully grown for many years. The trees were dug up and transported very carefully, not a single spruce was damaged. With no less care the trees will be transported to the Rostokino Aqueduct Park and planted there permanently.
In the period from May to June, the territory of the Rostokino Aqueduct Park will be improved, which will also include a re-examination of the planting of spruce trees for rooting. At the end of June — beginning of July it is planned to hold a solemn Opening Ceremony of the "Spruce Alley".
The natural wealth of the regions became the basis for the decoration of New Year trees at the RUSSIA EXPO.
Reindeer moss and cloudberry, tambourines with ancestral spirits, amber jewelry, Kalmyk domra and shells of the Far Eastern scallop. And all this is real. Unusual decorations from different parts of our vast country can be seen on New Year fir trees at the RUSSIA EXPO.
