Fyodor Lukyanov: "The unity of the peoples of Russia is the main condition on the path to a bright future"

Russia, as a large and multinational country, must take into account the interests of everyone who lives in it. This is a guarantee of natural and successful development. This opinion was shared with the Press Office of the National Centre RUSSIA by Fyodor Lukyanov, Director of Research at the Development and Support Foundation of the Valdai International Discussion Club.

According to the expert, unity in multinational and multi-faith societies lies in a shared understanding of goals and objectives.

"We are living in an era of change, with the picture of the day changing rapidly. The absence of unity is extremely dangerous, because in a world that is unstable and shaken, external impulses resonate with internal ones. That is why the unity of the peoples of Russia is the main condition on the path to a bright future," Fyodor Lukyanov explained.

Vladimir Putin announced the launch of the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia during the marathon "Russia — A Family of Families" at the National Centre RUSSIA. The large-scale event brought together more than four thousand people — representatives of over 190 peoples of the country, schoolchildren, students and international guests. Throughout the day, lectures and open dialogues by well-known statesmen, scientists, cultural figures, athletes and Heroes of Russia were held across the National Centre RUSSIA. The focus of both speakers and young participants was on the significance of the unity of the peoples of Russia, shared cultural legacy and traditions, courage and the defence of the Motherland.
