On May 4, in the congress hall of Pavilion No. 75 at the RUSSIA EXPO, another screening of the "Movies about the Main Thing" cycle will take place at 17:00. Guests will be able to see the science fiction film "Moscow — Cassiopeia" directed by Richard Viktorov. The partner of the show is the Gosfilmfond — the main archive and keeper of Russian films.

The movie was released in 1973, and a year later the second part of the dilogy was added to it under the title "Teens in the Universe". The film "Moscow — Cassiopeia" won the prize of the International Science Fiction Film Festival in Trieste, a prize at the Moscow International Film Festival, the Platero Award at the Gijon International Film Festival for Children and Youth. They are still relevant today, half a century after their release.

The classic of Russian science fiction, writer Kir Bulychev called Richard Viktorov, the author of the films, "the chief of science fiction in our cinema". The director passed away early, but he managed to do a lot for the development of the science fiction genre in the domestic cinematography.

Technical findings of Richard Viktorov's team were highly appreciated by Western filmmakers, including director Steven Spielberg and the creator of special effects in "Star Wars" and "Spider-Man" John Dykstra.

The moderator of the screening will be Evgeny Kharitonov, head of literary projects of the Russian State Library for Youth, writer, historian of literature and cinema. And as a special guest Anna Viktorova, the director's daughter, actress, who played one of the key roles in the movie, will attend the meeting. Before the screening, the guests will learn how Richard Viktorov created his movie masterpieces, how the filming of the legendary dilogy took place, and what happened to the performers of the main roles.
