Financial system in one click: Platform Economy Day to be held at the National Centre RUSSIA

The rapidly growing potential of digital platforms and their role in the global transformation of economies will be the key topic of Platform Economy Day at the National Centre RUSSIA on 11 November. The large-scale event will focus on the development of digital ecosystems and new models of economic growth, their contribution to supporting businesses and regional brands, driving innovation, creating new jobs, and improving people’s quality of life.

The highlight of the Day will be the signing of the Memorandum of Fair Practices by leading Russian digital companies. Under the document, they pledge to comply in advance with the requirements of the law on platform economy, support domestic producers, protect data, combat counterfeit goods, and develop anti-fraud tools. On the same day, the National Centre RUSSIA will host an international expert session within the Open Dialogue session titled "Digital Platforms as Drivers of the New Economy".

Participants will explore the potential of platforms and ecosystems for economic growth, improving the business environment and quality of life, as well as practical steps to scale up such models. A separate section will focus on the platformisation of public procurement: experts will consider cost reduction, simplified logistics, faster delivery, and increased competition and transparency within the system.

During Platform Economy Day, experts will also discuss the introduction of ecosystem solutions into everyday life and the creation of a unified digital space through the joint efforts of the government, business and technology. Other topics will include the trust economy, combating counterfeit goods and unfair practices, and tools that enhance the transparency of digital trade.

Experts will further examine the concept of a new national retail model and ways to balance the interests of offline retail and online platforms. The international discussion will bring together experts from different countries to discuss the role of platforms in innovation and in reshaping the global economy.

Representatives of the federal authorities, regional administrations, major companies and international experts are expected to attend. The event is organised by the Presidential Executive Office of Russia, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the National Centre RUSSIA, and VEB.RF.
