Head of the Ministry for the Development of the Far East Alexei Chekunkov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Russia Pavan Kapoor
Alexei Chekunkov, Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, and Pavan Kapoor, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Russia, at the RUSSIA EXPO discussed the development of investment cooperation, including in education, shipbuilding, medicine, industry, and prospects for expanding Russian-Indian inter-university and cultural cooperation.
The head of the Ministry for the Development of the Far East noted that India is Russia's longtime friend, business, cultural and political partner. Indian investors continue to successfully implement projects within the framework of preferential regimes in the Far East and the Arctic. Currently, the task is to increase the volume of trade and economic cooperation with India in the Far East. There is also potential for further expansion of mutual cooperation, and the Eastern Sea Corridor can play a major part in this.
Alexei Chekunkov invited the Indian delegation to take part in the IX Eastern Economic Forum and thanked Pavan Kapoor, who is completing his mission in Russia, for his contribution to the development of Russian-Indian relations.
Hosted festive events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Association of Indigenous Small-Numbered Peoples of the North, Siberia, and the Far East of the Russian Federation, and the 95th anniversary of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra.
