Visitors to the National Centre RUSSIA will be able to explore Mordovia in greater depth at the regional stand
The Days of the Republic of Mordovia will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA from 17 to 22 February. Throughout the week, thematic content will be shown on the main multimedia screen of the regional exposition within the "Book of Fairy Tales" exposition. Visitors will see videos about the cultural and historical heritage of the region, its tourist attractions and development prospects, as well as films by a children’s film studio created by children for children.
At the centre of the Republic of Mordovia stand rises a stylised kokoshnik decorated with embroidered ornaments characteristic of Mordovian culture. Another significant element of the exposition is a composition of tree roots symbolising one of the region’s most ancient treasures — Mordovian bog oak, whose trunks lay beneath local river waters for several thousand years. A display of traditional Mordovian crafts and trades is styled as a New Year tree, while the interactive panel "Tracking the Clues" invites guests to take part in a game dedicated to characters from Mordovian epic tales (bylinas).
A special place at the exposition will be given to replicas of works by the outstanding twentieth-century Mordovian sculptor Stepan Erzia. Having achieved international recognition, the artist retained close ties with his homeland and adopted a pseudonym reflecting his ethnic roots. In 2026, the 150th anniversary of the birth of Stepan Dmitrievich Erzia will be marked.
The Republic of Mordovia Days at the National Centre RUSSIA continue the programme of themed regional days within the "Book of Fairy Tales" exposition. Visitors can explore the culture, legends and epic heroes of the region, listen to fairy tales and see unique exhibits from other constituent entities of the Russian Federation free of charge with prior registration on the website russia.ru. The "Book of Fairy Tales" exposition will welcome guests until 1 March.
Students of the "Young Tour Guides School of Russia" competed in a quiz for the title of the most erudite team.
