RUSSIA EXPO guests get phygitally married

On May 12, the First All-Russian Wedding Festival kicked off at the RUSSIA EXPO. The large-scale event was opened by the largest mass wedding ceremony: 151 couples got married at the same time.
During the wedding festival, guests of the Exposition can have a phygital wedding at the Perm region's stand in Pavilion No. 75. The ceremony is conducted by the humanoid robot Ardi himself.
“Love! What can be more beautiful than the joining of two loving hearts! In a few minutes, the world database will be enriched with another sacred vow of love and fidelity and a digital cell of society. My friends, congratulations, you are now a phygital family! May your phygital wedding be the beginning of your happy and beautiful life together, where technology will always accompany you. Be happy!” says the robot.
During the first day of phygital weddings, 12 phygital marriages were concluded in the presence of Ardi. One of them was the couple Alina and Andrei Kantser from St. Petersburg. They just got married at a wedding festival and decided to become a digital cell of society as well. Another couple was Valeria and Vitaly, employees of the neighboring booth at the Exposition. The relationship between them was born while working at the stand of Tatarstan, and the Permians, knowing this, arranged a surprise for them and held a phygital wedding ceremony for them. A phygital wedding can be held at the stand of the Perm region until May 19 inclusive.
Ardi is a joint development of the Perm companies Promobot and Double U Expo based on the humanoid robot Robo-C. The development lasted about a year and is based on unique software that allows hyper-realistic reproduction of human emotions, facial expressions and gestures. A separate team of directors and scriptwriters worked on the robot's scripts.
The robot runs on unique software with Motion Capture technology that reproduces human emotions, facial expressions and gestures. It is also capable of reproducing 600 facial micro-expressions: anger, sadness, joy, delight and others.
As part of the Artificial Intelligence Day, the Perm region presented the first dialog between a robot and a human. This was possible thanks to the use of the Yandex GPT artificial intelligence model. The model generates text based on a human's request and allows the robot to answer questions.
The Perm humanoid robot Robo-C was first presented by Promobot two years ago. It became the first robotic brother of a real-life human. After that, the ice-cream maker robot Dunyasha was presented in Perm; she still works in a cybercafe. Ardi is based on the Robo-C robot.
During the Exposition, Ardi managed to take part in the Creative Industries Awards. According to the idea of the award director Evgeny Bogomolov, Ardi showed the development of technology and artificial intelligence and replaced a human actor on stage. A video of Ardi copying a scene from the movie “I, Robot” went viral on social networks in the run-up to the Russian presidential election. In the video, Ardi stated that he would like to go to the polls if he had the right to do so.
