"I will give my heart to Russia": The Cuban singer to be the first to enter the stage of the contest "Intervision"
Zulema Iglesias Salazar, a representative from Cuba, will be the first to perform in the Final of the International Music Contest Intervision-2025. The event will take place on 20 September at the Live Arena in Moscow.
"I never really liked being the first on stage, but I'm ready to do what I have to do. I am very happy to be here, to get to know Russia, a sister country, where, as a Cuban, I will give my heart to the people of Russia on the stage of the Live Arena," the singer shared.
Zulema Iglesias is a jazz vocalist, instrumentalist, and songwriter with more than 40 years of creative career. She is a recipient of the Order "For Achievements in National Culture". She began performing in 1982 at the age of 12, and in 1994 Zulema Iglesias entered the professional stage as part of the trio "Iglesias". Today, she has six full-length albums in her discography, the latest of which, "Solo tu", was nominated for the prestigious Cubadisco 2024 National Award.
The artist is known not only in Cuba: her concerts have been held in Spain, the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Mexico. At "Intervision", the singer will present a song named "Guaguanco", which combines the rhythms of the Afro-Cuban tradition and jazz improvisation.
"Intervision-2025" is the international music contest, the final of which will be held on 20 September 2025 at the Live Arena in Moscow. It will bring together performers from 23 countries of the world. Yaroslav Dronov (SHAMAN) will represent Russia at the contest.
