Art in collaboration with AI: the work "Museum X" at the "Legacy for the Future" exposition
Visitors to
the National Centre RUSSIA can attend the exposition of works by young artists
from various countries until February 2. The exposition features both classical
paintings and modernist and avant-garde projects. Additionally, unique artworks
created at the intersection of photography and AIGC technologies are presented
here. Their author is Wei Yunjia, a student at the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts.
In his
series titled "Museum X," the artist uses AIGC technology to create
new fantastical yet familiar spaces. Visitors can observe theater and museum
halls — recognizable and, at the same time, entirely unidentifiable. The
interiors, crafted by the artist in collaboration with artificial intelligence,
seem to exist beyond the boundaries of the real world. These extraordinary
works appear to invite viewers to travel through time or embark on a mental
journey.
The
"X" symbol in the title holds special meaning for the artist. In
algebra, "X" is used to represent an unknown value that can change.
This allows for the generalization of mathematical statements and solving
problems where specific values are not yet known.
The artist
invites viewers to contemplate the unknown variable hidden within his
paintings: eternity or a moment, time or space? There is no answer to this
question.
Please note that the second floor of the National Centre RUSSIA will be temporarily closed to visitors as expositions are changed. However, cultural, educational, and business programs will continue. All up-to-date information on event dates and locations can be found in the "Events" section on the website. Starting in February, the expositions "Hall of Inventions" and "Legacy for the Future" will conclude. In March, after installation and updates, the National Centre will open two new expositions: one on architecture and another titled "Journey Across Russia."
The lecture "Transport Architecture of Russia," part of the educational series "Symbols of Time," took place at the National Centre RUSSIA.
From May 29 to August 17, applications are open for young journalists, bloggersб and media professionals from across the country.
On August 2 and 3, listeners of Radio Russia will have a unique opportunity to hear two episodes of the podcast "Dialogues about the Future" once again.
