Visiting schedule for the "Geography Lessons" exposition changed on 16 April
The visiting schedule for the exposition "Geography
Lessons" has changed. Today, 16 April, visitors can explore the exposition
independently with an audio guide until 17:00. After that, entry will only be
available as part of guided tour groups. Registration is available on the website
of the National Centre RUSSIA in the "Events" section.
"Geography Lessons" is an exposition of
cartographic treasures from the country’s leading collections. The exhibits
have been provided by the Russian State Library, the Russian Geographical Society,
archives of the Ministry of Defence, as well as universities and research
centres. The exposition is structured as a large narrative about the country,
divided into eight thematic chapters.
The project is designed for a family audience — children aged 9 – 16 and their parents. Everyone will find something of interest. Schoolchildren can explore the work of geographers and researchers through interactive exhibits, educational modules and visual stories that allow them to feel like explorers. Adults will discover new perspectives on history and geography, see authentic artefacts and hear engaging stories. All visitors will have the opportunity to look at familiar things in a new way: behind the seemingly dry outlines on maps lie human stories, expeditions, battles and scientific breakthroughs.
Each hall features short animated stories about great
discoveries, the exploration of new territories, battles and scientific
advances. Created using modern technologies, these videos bring the past to
life before visitors’ eyes.
From tomorrow, 17 April, the exposition will return to its
regular schedule — open daily from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 20:00.
The Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA presents a collection of dolls and clay toys that "draw" a map of the country.
The II Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. A New Platform for Global Growth" will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA in Moscow from 27 to 29 April.
