The Open Dialogue to bring together experts and authors of ideas for new global growth
The II Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. A New
Platform for Global Growth" will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA
in Moscow from 27 to 29 April. Participants can expect lectures by
international experts, pitching sessions and presentations by essay authors,
networking and exchange of experience, as well as discussions with participants
from more than 40 countries. Registration for the event is ongoing, and
applications can be submitted via the link.
The programme is built around four strategic areas, which
also structure the finalists’ work:
— Investments in human capital: human capital development,
education and demographics;
— Investments in technology: artificial intelligence,
cybersecurity and smart cities;
— Investments in the environment: human-centred territorial
development, ecology and the circular economy;
— Investments in connectivity: the future of trade, digital
currencies, infrastructure and logistics.
More than 300 essays from around the world, dedicated to
ideas for global economic development, were included in the longlist of the
Open Dialogue "The Future of the World. A New Platform for Global
Growth". The greatest interest was shown in investment in people — one of
the key priorities of today. The distribution of topics is as follows:
investment in people — 40%, investment in technology — 24%, investment in
connectivity — 20%, and investment in the environment — 16%. In their essays,
participants address a wide range of relevant issues, including the impact of
artificial intelligence on people and the future of professions, demographic
challenges, institutional crises, digital equality, as well as migration and
access to education. Among international participants, particular interest has
been shown in the application of technology in agriculture.
A total of 1,638 essays were submitted to the contest. An AI
assistant, ODI, was used to evaluate them: it analysed the texts according to
specified criteria, checked them for plagiarism and assessed the extent of
generative technology use. The finalists include works recognised as original
and created with minimal use of AI.
Seventy-five authors who submitted their works hold academic
degrees. The overall quality of essays has increased this year.
The geography of the essay contest for the II Open Dialogue
"The Future of the World. A New Platform for Global Growth" has
expanded significantly, with participants from 18 new countries joining the
project. Among them are Nepal, Armenia, Nicaragua and Uruguay.
An important feature of the Open Dialogue is the principle
of continuity: essayists from previous years will take part as experts and jury
members. This creates a distinct intellectual community in which participants
not only present ideas but, over time, become their advocates.
The event will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA in
partnership with the Centre for Cross-Industry Expertise "Third
Rome", with the support of the Presidential Executive Office of Russia.
The initiative was previously endorsed by the President of the Russian
Federation, Vladimir Putin, who emphasised its importance for shaping a new
global agenda.
The Department Store of the National Centre RUSSIA presents a collection of dolls and clay toys that "draw" a map of the country.
Today, 16 April, visitors can explore the exposition independently with an audio guide until 17:00.
