To the 90th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin: the fifth Tsiolkovsky Film Festival was presented at the RUSSIA EXPO
The selection committee of the festival considered more than 1700 applications from 109 countries at the preliminary stage. About a hundred feature, animated and documentary films were selected for participation. The largest number of applications for participation came from Iran, India, Russia, USA, Italy, Brazil, Spain, France, Turkey, China and Argentina. This was announced by the president of the film festival, People's Artist Igor Ugolnikov at the presentation of the festival at the RUSSIA EXPO
As Igor Ugolnikov noted, this year the festival will remain true to tradition in its main fundamentals - for the fifth time it will start its work on April 12, the Day of Cosmonautics, and the main venue will again be the K. E. Tsiolkovsky State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics. However, there will also be changes.
"We will talk about space, of course. But first of all, about our cosmonauts, Soviet and Russian - this festival will be dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin. That's why this year we will add a fourth prize to the three main awards, the "Gagarin" Grand Prix, which will be awarded to the authors of the best Russian film about space," emphasized Igor Ugolnikov.
Everyone who is interested in space subjects and cheers for the development of national cosmonautics should visit the event - this idea was expressed by pilot-cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev in his speech.
"The Tsiolkovsky Festival is among the most significant events of the year, and you will not regret being there. First of all, the venue itself is unique - it is one of the best cosmonautics museums on the planet. You will be able to get a real full immersion in the space conquest theme there. Besides, cinema and space in general are inseparable - it is no coincidence that not so long ago the first feature film was shot in outer space, "The Challenge", and it is also worth seeing for everyone who has not yet done so," said the cosmonaut.
One of the tracks of the Open Dialogue is "Investments in Human Capital." The pitch session on this topic brought together over 30 speakers.
One of the key topics for discussion within the initiative became "Investments in Connectivity," which attracted 24% of the essay authors about the future of the world.
The pitch sessions on four tracks took place at the National Centre RUSSIA on April 28, with the participation of authors whose essays were selected by the expert council of the National Centre.
