How art and fashion transform regions: an open discussion within the "Looking into the Future" program
How do
fashion brands influence regional life, shape new urban environments, and
inspire people to care for their surroundings? Answers to these questions will
be presented at the open discussion "How Fashion Brands and Cultural
Initiatives Transform Life of Regions," which will take place within the
expert program on architecture and urbanism "Looking into the Future"
at the National Centre RUSSIA on April 8.
Together
with the digital publication PEOPLETALK, event guests will discuss why it is
important to develop local projects, how a sense of attachment to one's
hometown influences its transformation, and what concrete steps help regions
become more attractive. The designer of the conceptual brand from the Far
North, Gapanovich, Alexandra Gapanovich, will share how she reinterprets
Russia’s uniqueness in her work, conveying national identity through the local
code of the northern regions.
The owner
of ASKERI GALLERY and a promoter of contemporary art, Polina Askeri, will share
her experience in creating an art residency for artists in Zaraysk, Moscow
region. The founder of Keep Looking Group, Ksenia Shipilova, will present the
"Threads" project — an all-Russian fashion industry competition aimed
at developing the design environment in the Ivanovo region. The artistic
director of the Nikola-Lenivets Art Park and the "Archstoyanie"
festival, Nikolai Polissky, will talk about how a small village in the Kaluga
region transformed into the largest art park in Europe. The discussion will be
moderated by PEOPLETALK's editor-in-chief, Ksenia Anosova.
The event
will serve as a platform for discussing how culture and fashion can transform

One of the tracks of the Open Dialogue is "Investments in Human Capital." The pitch session on this topic brought together over 30 speakers.
One of the key topics for discussion within the initiative became "Investments in Connectivity," which attracted 24% of the essay authors about the future of the world.
The pitch sessions on four tracks took place at the National Centre RUSSIA on April 28, with the participation of authors whose essays were selected by the expert council of the National Centre.
