The exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA that will last till February 2 showcases works by young artists from Russia, China, India, Brazil, Ethiopia, and Iran. Visitors can view over 250 pieces, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, art objects, as well as video and animation.

One painting that draws particular attention is "Sisyphus' Greenhouse," a vivid, symbolic, and subtly ironic work by artist Chen Kanging. The myth of Sisyphus intertwines with its modern interpretation in this piece. The striking combination of colors, unique imagery, and myriad details captivate visitors, who linger in search of deeper meaning. According to Yuri Bolotov, a guide at the National Centre RUSSIA, all interpretations are valid and deserve acknowledgment, even if the artist intended an entirely different message.

The myth of Sisyphus' endless toil provokes reflection on the futility of many human endeavors, especially when confronting fate or chasing success. Looking at the painting, one cannot help but recall the "achievement cult," which, while inspiring self-improvement, also leads to burnout and even psychological challenges.

Perhaps as a response to this phenomenon, a movement known as "tangping" (躺平) — "lying flat" — has gained traction in Chinese society in recent years. Among young people, the idea of adopting a passive stance is becoming increasingly popular. With the advancement of artificial intelligence, the boundaries between the real and virtual worlds are blurring. People are more frequently immersing themselves in the internet, avoiding face-to-face interactions.

"I also see a generational conflict reflected in this painting. The older generation does not always accept the fact that young people strive to simplify their lives and may choose to live for their own pleasure," concluded the guide.

Visitors to the National Centre RUSSIA can explore the exposition independently or join free guided tours, available in 30-minute or one-hour formats. Registration is open on the website under the "Events" section.
