The space epic "Through the Thorns to the Stars" will continue the series of film screenings at the RUSSIA EXPO
Screenings of movies that have played a special role in the history of Russian and world cinema continue at the RUSSIA EXPO. The next screening as part of "Films about the Main Things" will be held on May 25 in Pavilion No. 75 and will be devoted to the science fiction film "Through the Thorns to the Stars". The partner of the show is Gosfilmfond — the main archive and keeper of Russian films.
"Through the Thorns to the Stars" is a two-part movie about space flights, environmental disaster of planetary scale, aliens and robots, friendship and unearthly love. The picture was created as a result of cooperation between two great Russian sci-fi creators - writer Kir Bulychev and director Richard Viktorov, and immediately after the release it was at the top of the box office — in 1981, the space epic was watched by 20.5 million viewers.
This film has a musical "nuance". Beautiful music by Alexei Rybnikov creates a stunning sci-fi atmosphere. The music was so successful that later the soundtrack of Viktorov's film became the basis for the legendary rock opera "Juno and Avos" by Lenkom Theater.
The event will again be moderated by Evgeny Kharitonov, head of literary projects of the Russian State Library for Youth, writer, historian of literature and cinema, poet and musician. And the special guests will be R.N. Viktorov's children, actors and directors of TV and cinema Anna and Nikolay Viktorovs, as well as the performer of the leading role of the movie "Through the Thorns to the Stars", the alien Niya, — film actress Elena Metelkina.
