"Cosmic Dream": performance inspired by Ivan Yefremov’s work awaits Literary Club guests at the National Centre RUSSIA
What might the person of the future be like if viewed not through fear of technology, but through a dream of beauty, knowledge and space? Participants in the Literary Club "What to Read?!", dedicated to the work of Ivan Yefremov, will seek an answer to this question on 20 August at 19:00 at the National Centre RUSSIA. Guests can look forward not only to an intellectual discussion, but also to "Cosmic Dream", a phygital performance inspired by the work of one of the most enigmatic Soviet science fiction writers.
"I invite you to this wonderful and fascinating event. We will present 'Cosmic Dream', a performance inspired by Ivan Yefremov’s socio-philosophical science fiction. You can look forward to real magic, an immersion in space and an opportunity to experience the writer’s ideas about the person of the future in a new way. Come along — it will be fascinating," said Natalia Talandite, an actress and Artistic Director of the Digital Mysteries phygital theatre.
The performance will form part of the programme dedicated to the image of the person of the future in Yefremov’s works. By combining performing arts with digital technologies, the audience will embark on their own journey into a space where science fiction is not only a conversation about tomorrow, but also a way of imagining a person in harmony with the world, science and themselves.
The meeting will be moderated by Nikolai Zharinov, a philologist, cultural studies scholar and writer. The guests will include Yevgeny Sazonov, Chief Editor at the Komsomolskaya Pravda media group, photographer, documentary filmmaker and Associate Professor at the Russian State University for the Humanities; Nikolai Smirnov, a historian and co-author of the book "Ivan Yefremov" from the "Lives of Remarkable People" series; and Sergei Volobuyev, Deputy Director General of ICS Consulting and Senior Research Fellow at the D. S. Likhachev Heritage Institute.
