Cultural center of the Russian East: Day of Buryatia at the RUSSIA EXPO
Another region made its presence known at the RUSSIA EXPO. This time Buryatia, the cultural center of the Russian East, spoke about its successes. The republic joined the Far Eastern Federal District (FEFD) only five years ago, but has managed to achieve growth in a variety of areas.
For example, more than 25 new schools have been built there, and in 2024 Buryatia will start creating a world-class interuniversity campus «Baikal». In the health care sector, 86 new facilities have emerged, and the republic’s industry was honored with the "Breakthrough of the Year" award at the INNOPROM-2023 exposition.
Culture and tourism in the region are also actively developing. For example, the National Museum and a new building of the National Song and Dance Theater are being built there. Since 2018, more than two million tourists have visited Buryatia.
"With the subject’s entry into the Far Eastern Federal District, a special preferential regime for investors was extended to us, we created the Buryatia Territory of Advanced Development, which shows good results in terms of the implementation of investment projects in various areas", — said the head of the region Alexei Tsydenov.
The visitors of the exposition were shown movies about the republic, as well as performances of local creative groups. And the participants of the quest «Live one day in Buryatia" competed for a tourist ticket to this region.
It should be reminded that the International RUSSIA EXPO is taking place in Moscow at VDNH. The achievements of 89 regions of the country are presented here, as well as workshops, lectures, concerts, movie screenings and other events. The exposition runs until April 12, 2024.
