BIOMEDICINE OF THE FUTURE: PENZA REGION

In the Penza region, enterprises that produce medical devices and dietary supplements are actively developing. The large-scale engineering and production cluster "Biomed" has been operating for over 10 years. The future of the region is directly connected to the health of its residents.

This is why the region's flowerbed is designed in the shape of a heart, symbolizing life and health. It is adorned with an acrylic cardiogram that glows beautifully in the evening. At the centre of the composition there is a swallow — a symbol of hope, as well as strength and endurance.

Interestingly, the region chose red-stemmed buckwheat as its symbolic plant. This plant contains flavonoids, quercetin, isorhamnetin, carotene and B vitamins, which help strengthen blood vessel walls, improve blood composition and enhance brain function. From this type of buckwheat, dietary supplements and medicines are produced in the region.

ALTAI APOTHECARY GARDEN: REPUBLIC OF ALTAI

The Republic of Altai's flowerbed exposition is dedicated to one of the traditional activities of the indigenous population — Altai medicine. It is based on respect for nature and a deep knowledge of the surrounding world, passed down from generation to generation. Since ancient times, wild medicinal herbs have been collected in the region, and today they are also grown in nurseries. Then, using modern technologies, they are processed into dietary supplements and tinctures following ancient recipes.

The region's flowerbed symbolizes the connection between ancient traditions and innovative technologies through a combination of ancient boulders and inserts of mirrored composite. The plants used in the composition grow in the wild in the Altai Mountains and are the basis of the famous Altai medicine recipes: saxifrage, yarrow, stonecrop, violet and bergenia.

The symbolic plant of the region is juniper — a sacred and revered plant among the Altai people. A lit juniper branch is used to cleanse the home, cradle, hearth and to fumigate a sick person. Almost every Altai family carefully stores juniper branches all year round.

KURGAN REGION — HEALTHY FUTURE

The Kurgan region is a health resort area of the country, famous for its sanatoriums, therapeutic mud baths and lakes with medicinal waters. It is also the capital of orthopedics. Here is the National Medical Research Centre for Traumatology and Orthopedics named after academician G.A. Ilizarov, where patients from all over the country come to recover.

The Kurgan region flowerbed is a beautiful floral fantasy dedicated to the future resort at Lake Medvezhye. The exposition features the shoreline of the lake, created with flowers and plants such as peonies, sweet peas, forget-me-nots, daisies and geraniums.
