International Interfaith Youth Forum to be held at the National Centre RUSSIA
The International Interfaith Youth Forum will open at the National Centre RUSSIA on 23 November. More than 600 Russian and international students will take part in it. They will have the opportunity to speak with leaders of traditional religious denominations, representatives of public authorities, well-known scholars and public figures.
"One of our key objectives is to foster a harmoniously developed personality – people capable of independent, creative thinking. The forum will become a platform for dialogue between socially engaged, thoughtful young people and the leaders of all traditional religious denominations of Russia. I expect that we will be able to build a conversation about the spiritual and moral values that have always been fundamental to our country, demonstrating their presence in everyday life and linking them to the issues that genuinely concern the student community," said Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Valery Falkov.
The forum’s programme includes discussions on issues of Russian identity, artificial intelligence, new media, social charity and many other topics. Special attention will be devoted to the experience of spiritual and educational projects of the "New Chersonese" museum and temple complex.
Preparations for the forum have been under way since the beginning of the year and have covered the entire country. In various regions, more than 350 meetings between students and representatives of traditional religious denominations were held through the coordination centres of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia. These meetings brought together more than 25,000 participants.
The International Interfaith Youth Forum is included in the action plan for implementing the Fundamentals of State Policy on the Preservation and Strengthening of Traditional Russian Spiritual and Moral Values. It will be the first in a series of events leading up to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia announced in our country.
Honoured guests will include representatives of the Government of the Smolensk region and the legislative authorities of the Russian Federation.
The event, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Federal Tax Service, was held at the National Centre RUSSIA on 20 November.
