Rally-concert "May! Labor is Cool!" was held at the RUSSIA EXPO
On May 1, a festive rally-concert "May! Labor is Сool!"
was held on the Main Street Stage of the International RUSSIA EXPO. Guests of honor addressed
congratulatory words to the visitors of the Exposition, including a large
number of students — participants of the May Day march. Among them were
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova, Head of the
Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh) Ksenia Razuvaeva, Chairman of
the Board of the Russian Student Squads Mikhail Kiselev and others. In
addition, the rally-concert included dance and vocal performances by groups.
"The Russian Student Squads are the largest labor
movement of the youth of our country. Russian Student Squads gathered
initiative, courageous and hardworking young people, who rush into labor battle
with special enthusiasm and achieve the highest results. They help their
country, help everyone who needs it. I am sure that new heights are ahead of
you all, which you will easily conquer. Because you are brave and hardworking!"
Tatyana Golikova addressed the gathered students.
"The young generation of our country should realize
that only through labor we can be a strong, prosperous and steadfast power. And
this requires not just words, but deeds. Together with the Russian Student
Squads, we have launched a separate grant competition timed to coincide with
the Spring and Labor holiday. We will announce its results tomorrow. Our young
people in the regions will receive funds to implement their projects. More than
200 applications have been submitted for the contest. I would like to note that
among the initiatives there are also career guidance projects for teenagers — an extremely important topic, discussed today at all levels," emphasized
Ksenia Razuvaeva.
In turn, Mikhail Kiselev noted that today youth and wisdom
marched through the main Exposition of the country in a festive procession:
"I thank all those like-minded people, representatives of other youth
organizations and movements. Today is indeed a labor holiday at the RUSSIA
EXPO. I would like to say a huge word of gratitude to the President of the
Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the Government of the Russian
Federation and all those who today support people of labor".
Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher
Education of the Russian Federation, emphasized in her congratulatory message
that the May Day demonstration is a tradition of many decades. "If we take into account that
for 65 years more than 20 million people have passed through the fraternity of
student squads, it is natural that this year in Moscow — one of the youth
capitals of Russia the RSS is the one in charge of May Day. Our student
squads really deserve the right to lead May Day demonstrations. Their labor,
energy, and desire to create for the good of Russia help us to solve the most
important tasks and set new ambitious goals," said Olga Petrova.
Denis Kravchenko - State Duma Deputy, Executive Secretary of
the Bureau of the Supreme Council of the United Russia Party noted that the
slogan "Peace! Labor! May!" is the call of our parents and
grandparents: "It was they who upturned the virgin soil 65 years ago. It was they who 50 years ago started
the great construction of the century — the Baikal-Amur Mainline. But today it
is you — representatives of the Russian Student Squads — who will have to
complete this construction, expand it, increase its capacity. Today, as
many years ago, we face the task of achieving technological sovereignty of our
country. For this purpose, it is necessary to develop in the field of science,
technology and industry. And we need your support".
The International RUSSIA EXPO is the most important
achievements of the country gathered in one place. Throughout the Exposition,
cultural events, a rich business and educational program await guests. The
expositions of 89 Russian regions, leading federal agencies, corporations and
public organizations are presented to the visitors. More than 11 million people
have already visited the Exposition. The International RUSSIA EXPO takes place
at VDNH in Moscow from November 4 to July 8.
