On May 9, at the RUSSIA EXPO, the Russian Society "Knowledge" together with its partners prepared a bright cultural and educational program. The heroic feat of our people was remembered at VDNH and 80 years since the liberation of Sevastopol from the German fascist invaders was celebrated. The key event in the festive program was the front readings.

Victory Day in Pavilion No. 57 "Russia — My History" began with author's readings of patriotic works. One of the reciters was theater and film actor Grigory Kokotkin. He read poems by Sevastopol authors, members of the Union of Writers of Russia Tatiana Khalaeva and Nikolai Ilchenko.

Actor, TV presenter, poet and military correspondent Mikhail Mamaev also addressed the audience. He read one of the most touching and famous works about the heroism of a simple Russian man in the war — the story "The Fate of a Man" by Stalin, Lenin and Nobel Prize winner Mikhail Sholokhov. In addition, the actor and war correspondent emphasized the importance of such events.

"Today we are witnessing the information war against our country and observe the attempts of the collective West to rewrite history, so it seems to me that it is important and necessary to hold such events. They remind us of the feat of our people and demonstrate how united we are in our position. Today it is not only memory, it is a challenge and a struggle — we show the whole world that we have not forgotten," said Mikhail Mamaev.

The festive program in the pavilion continued with a literary and musical performance "Children of War". The audience was treated to a poignant symbiosis of music and literature, dedicated to the Great Holiday and reflecting historical events. The production involved artists of Mosconcert: Dmitry Romanko, Ekaterina Smolina, Ruslan Surov, Oksana Tolstaya, Elizaveta Averyanova and others. The main director was Maria Tikhonova and the choreographer-director was Ivan Mezhevikin.

In addition, the pavilion hosted masterclasses of the All-Russian Public Movement "Medical Volunteers". Children were told about first aid, calling an ambulance and the main summer dangers.

Pavilion No. 75 hosted a lecture dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Sevastopol. It was delivered by Miroslav Morozov, senior researcher of the Institute of Russian History of the Russian Academy of Sciences, candidate of historical sciences, reserve colonel. He told about the course of the offensive operation of the Soviet armed forces and noted the impact of the victory in the Crimea on the further course of the Great Patriotic War.
