The first week of the new exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA will feature the Republic of Dagestan Days
At the exposition "Region 2030. Platform of the
Future" at the National Centre RUSSIA, the first week will be dedicated to
the Days of the Republic of Dagestan. The thematic week devoted to the region
will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA from 2 to 7 September. Visitors
to the region’s stand will enjoy a rich cultural and educational programme,
workshops, prize draws, and much more.
On 2 September, the Republic of Dagestan Days at the
exposition "Region 2030. Platform of the Future" will open with an
extensive cultural programme. Among the performances are the dance "Little
Djigits" by the Vatan ensemble, the lezginka "Echo of the
Mountains", and a medley of Dagestani melodies performed by the Abasov
brothers. In addition, the most knowledgeable participants in the entertaining
quiz "Tourist Dagestan" will receive memorable prizes for their
knowledge of the republic’s landmarks and cultural features.
A gastronomic workshop will be held on 3 September. A
renowned chef from Dagestan will show and explain how to prepare traditional
dishes of Dagestani cuisine such as urbech, apricot porridge, khalpama, and
chudu.
On the same day, and also on 5 September, visitors to the
stand will see a presentation of Dagestan’s traditional crafts. Master artisans
from the region will hold open lessons in carpet weaving and silverwork.
Participants will not only witness the process first-hand, but also take part
in creating a traditional pileless carpet and a silver goblet using a unique
metalworking technique originating from the village of Kubachi in Dagestan.
An Open Dialogue with the Head of the Republic of Dagestan,
Sergei Melikov, will take place on 4 September. He will speak about the
region’s main achievements and development plans up to 2030. The republic’s presentation
programme also includes an autograph session with renowned athletes,
performances by artists and other events.
On 6 September, the Dagestan stand will host Youth Day.
Visitors will learn about projects aimed at developing the creative and intellectual
potential of the younger generation. The programme will include presentations
of the "Living Pencil" project and the Caspian Youth Educational
Forum, a lecture by representatives of the Moscow Department of Youth Policy on
opportunities for Dagestani youth living and studying in the capital, meetings
with opinion leaders, and various creative, intellectual and other activities.
The results of the week dedicated to the region, as well as
the results of the photo contest announced by the Ministry of Tourism and
Traditional Crafts of the Republic of Dagestan, will be summarised on 7
September. The online photo contest "Hospitable Dagestan", for
tourists who have visited the region, will run throughout the week — from 1 to
7 September. From 1 to 4 September, applications can be submitted via a special
form on the Ministry’s website. The 10 best works, selected by the jury, will
be put to an open vote, and on 5 and 6 September, an online vote will be held
on the Ministry’s official Telegram channel. The main prize of the contest is a
trip along the National Tourist Route "Legends of Dagestan".
About the exposition
The first participants in the project "Region 2030.
Platform of the Future" at the National Centre RUSSIA will be seven
constituent entities of the Russian Federation: the Chelyabinsk, Tula, Voronezh
and Amur regions, the Nenets Autonomous Area, the Republic of Dagestan, and the
Jewish Autonomous Region. Each region will present a dedicated stand combining
multimedia technologies, historical artefacts and interactive installations.
A key element of the exposition will be the 2-3-2V
locomotive. It is an exact replica of an experimental high-speed locomotive
designed in 1938 at the Voroshilovgrad Locomotive Plant.
The exposition "Region 2030. Platform of the
Future" will be located on the second floor of Pavilion No. 7 and will be
open daily, except Monday, from 10:00 to 20:00. Announcements of special guided
tours, workshops and meetings with regional representatives will be available
on the website russia.ru in the "Events" section and on the social
media accounts of the National Centre RUSSIA.
Professor, Honorary Research Fellow at the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD) in Bangladesh Mustafizur Rahman will be another international participant of the Open Dialogue.
On 28 August, the National Centre RUSSIA launched enrolment in the "Young Tour Guides School of Russia".
On 27 August, the National Centre RUSSIA hosted a panel discussion organised by the EISR titled "Knowledge about the Country’s Achievements: To Whom and How Should It Be Properly Communicated?".
