157 years since the founding of the Russian Red Cross will be celebrated at the Exposition on May 15
On May 15, at the exposition "In the Service of Health!" of
Ministry of Health of Russia the birthday of the oldest humanitarian
organization of Russia, which has united millions of people over the years of
its existence, will be celebrated.
The history of the Russian Red Cross began on May 15, 1867,
when Emperor Alexander II approved the Charter of the Society for the Care of
Wounded and Sick Warriors, which was later renamed the Russian Red Cross
Society in 1879. During the First and Second World Wars, tens of thousands of
volunteers united under the Red Cross flag, hundreds of nurses and paramedics
were trained, and the development of the donor movement in the country began.
Today the Russian Red Cross teaches first aid skills, forms
emergency response teams, implements social and humanitarian programs,
popularizes blood and bone marrow donation.
Any of our guests can learn first aid skills in
life-threatening conditions, get acquainted with the theory and practice their
knowledge with experienced instructors in red vests on special mannequins.
On May 15, a busy day of festivities awaits visitors to Pavilion C1.
The event will feature a presentation of a collection of essays written by participants of the international project "Open Dialogue: The Future of the World. New Platform for Global Growth."
