Russian and Indian industry ministers visit the Department Store at "INNOPROM. India"
The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Anton Alikhanov, and India's Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, visited the National Centre RUSSIA's flagship project, the Department Store, at the International Industrial Trade Fair "INNOPROM. India" in New Delhi. The distinguished guests explored the exposition, which brings together traditional crafts and folk arts from across Russia — from crystal and Dymkovo toys to Caucasian carpet weaving and northern lace. The tour for the ministers was led by the Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA, Natalia Virtuozova.
"The National Centre RUSSIA was established two years ago by our President, Vladimir Putin. In New Delhi, we are presenting our flagship project, the Department Store, where we have brought together the best products from across Russia. Our exposition is the most popular at the fair. We can see that all the products are in demand. For example, the nevalyashka (roly-poly toy) created especially for INNOPROM is almost completely sold out," said the Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA.
Natalia Virtuozova also spoke about the National Centre RUSSIA's plans to continue contributing to the cultural dialogue between the two countries: "Russia and India have been bound by friendship for many years. Next year marks the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. We would like products from the Department Store RUSSIA to remain available to Indian customers, while products from India could be presented at our venue in Moscow."
The delegation also visited the Russia cultural zone, which the National Centre RUSSIA created especially for the fair. Natalia Virtuozova told the distinguished guests about the exposition: it features unique examples of handmade Russian decorative and applied art — from crystal and Dymkovo toys to Caucasian carpet weaving and northern lace. The zone also includes a space where artisans from the Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod and Kirov Regions, as well as the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area — Yugra, demonstrate traditional craft techniques from their regions and explain their distinctive features to visitors.
The International Industrial Trade Fair "INNOPROM. India" is taking place from 9 to 11 September at the Bharat Mandapam exhibition complex in New Delhi. The event is organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The fair has brought together more than 130 companies from Russia and India to develop business contacts and joint industrial projects.

A creative meeting with People's Artist of Russia and Artistic Director and Chief Director of the Teresa Durova Theatre will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA on 13 September.
The demonstration is led by Larisa Ushakova, a leading Dymkovo artisan and a member of the Union of Artists of Russia.
The VII Russia-China Small and Medium Enterprises Business Forum "Path to Success" opened at the National Centre RUSSIA on 10 September.
