On April 23, the results of the first Russia — My Horizons National Award were summed up in Pavilion No. 57 "Education". The launch of the award crowns five years of rapid development of career guidance in Russia, which has already covered 8.4 million schoolchildren and more than 60,000 teachers, as well as almost 12,000 partners and experts, regional operators.
The National Award was established by the Humanitarian Projects Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and is part of the Ticket to the Future project for early career guidance of schoolchildren in grades 6-11. The purpose of the award is to recognize the achievements of people, organizations and projects that contribute to the professional self-identification of young people, help them choose a profession and build a successful career.
"Vocational guidance allows schoolchildren to see all the possibilities of our country. I want to thank all the teachers, organizers, employers who participate in the implementation of the Ticket to the Future project and in the preparation of the lessons "Russia — My Horizons". We prepare these lessons together with you, with the Humanitarian Projects Foundation, with the "Knowledge" Society. As the school year has passed, we can say with confidence that these lessons have succeeded. Schoolchildren need them, they are interesting. The Russia — My Horizons Award is proof of this. More than 3,000 applications were submitted for it. I would like to congratulate everyone on this wonderful event and wish them new achievements!" emphasized Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergei Kravtsov.
The award participants were teachers, authors of corporate practices, methods, scientific works in the field of career guidance, individual school projects. The main selection criterion is that the announced projects help schoolchildren to decide on their future profession and consciously direct their educational and professional interests.
"We live in an era of change, when professional choice becomes one of the most important decisions in a person's life. The Russia - My Horizons Award is designed to recognize those who help young people to consciously approach the choice of profession, as well as provide them with the opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills that will be useful in the future. I am sure that the award will become one of the driving factors in the further development of career guidance, which is so important for our country and education," said Ivan Yesin, Head of the Humanitarian Projects Foundation.
In total, over three thousand applications from all regions of Russia were submitted for participation in the contest, of which the expert council selected more than 70 projects for the short-list.
