The stand of the Saratov region continues its work at the RUSSIA EXPO. Visitors learned about ancient Saratov wedding traditions, could see the scene of the morning of the wedding day - bachelorette party, the dressing of the bride.

“This is an ancient wedding rite, traditional specifically for Saratov province. The morning of the bride began with preparations for the wedding. The godmother and girlfriends were getting the bride ready for the wedding. We have a traditional oath of the bride of Khvalynsky district, who wept, saying farewell to the maiden's life. By the way, the peculiarity of the performance is the characteristic thin voice. The rite is reproduced as authentically as possible. We have authentic costumes, headdresses. During the rite we put on jewelry and wedding wreath, cover the bride with a rep shawl. Only the groom opens the shawl when the bride is “sold” by her parents,” said Elena Lebedeva, head of the national cultures sector of the Saratov Regional Folk Art Center named after L.A. Ruslanova, head of the folklore ensemble "Ethnosphere".
