Theater festivals of Mari El were presented at the RUSSIA EXPO

The presentation of theater festivals of Mari El took place at the International RUSSIA EXPO. The institutions showcased excerpts from performances, musical numbers and video sketches about the development of theaters.

"Today at VDNH, the Mari El stand features all our theaters. This is an opportunity to show their achievements. All theaters have an active touring tradition: we visit festivals of our colleagues, theaters from many cities come to us, and neighboring republics are practically always our guests at theater festivals and premieres," said Deputy Prime Minister of Mari El Konstantin Ivanov.

He expressed confidence that the presentation of theaters would contribute to the development of interregional connections and an increase in tourist flow: "We see that the work of the RUSSIA EXPO shows its results, as many tourists have started visiting us after learning that there is such a wonderful republic, such a beautiful city and magnificent nature".

The deputy prime minister mentioned that Mari El hosts nearly eight festivals annually. The republic ranks first in the Volga Federal District and fourth in Russia in theater attendance.

There are six professional theaters in Mari El. In 2023, their attendance was 418.2 thousand viewers, which is 15.9% more than the previous year. The theater and entertainment organizations presented 23 premieres last year and held over 2.1 thousand performances.

The International RUSSIA EXPO has been taking place at VDNH in Moscow since November 4, 2023. The Exposition is dedicated to the country's achievements in various sectors of the economy. The forum will continue until July 8, 2024.
