The lecture "Why is design necessary and what to do if you need it" was delivered by Alexander Subochev, Project Manager of Art. Lebedev Studio. The expert has got projects for such customers as the Russian Ministry of Energy, Rosatom and Sberbank under his belt.
"It seems that everything around us is design. In the common man's perception, design is some kind of decoration, and it is needed so that: it was ugly, and then became beautiful. But in fact, design is needed to solve specific problems. For example, you enter the territory of the RUSSIA EXPO and see the navigation around VDNH. The design of this navigation should orient you in the space and help you get where you need to go. If it is good, it is easy to do. If it is bad - it is hard to do," said Alexander Subochev.
In addition, the speaker shared his experience and practices on how not to fail with a design project, how to set the right task to the designer and, finally, how to choose the right person who will bring the idea to life.
At the event called "Optical Power-up" as part of Runet Day, the organizers arranged small competitions, and also, all interested guests of the pavilion could learn details and ask questions about the advance of high-speed Internet.
"As the guests of the RUSSIA EXPO are both children and adults, we decided to organize a small sports competition on a jump rope today. However, not a simple one, but one made of optical cable. That is, high-tech fiber-optic cable can be a sports equipment as well.
