At the RUSSIA EXPO, Sergei Kravtsov and the Minister of Education of the DPRK discussed opportunities for cooperation between the two countries

The Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergei Kravtsov held a meeting with Minister of Education of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Sung Du. They discussed opportunities for cooperation in the spheres of general and preschool education, organization of children's recreation, as well as in the framework of teacher exchanges.
"We are interested in continuing contacts, expanding cooperation between our countries. Your visit is very important for us. We have a number of proposals for cooperation. We are also interested in the experience of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea," said Sergei Kravtsov.
Kim Sung Du, Minister of Education of the DPRK, noted that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is interested in increasing cooperation with the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation to continue strengthening the relationship between the two countries.
"We have no doubt that this visit will allow us to see with our own eyes the successes you have achieved, and they will certainly become a good example for us," said the head of the Korean ministry.
He outlined a number of areas in which the Korean side proposes to develop cooperation. Among them he named teaching the Korean language in Russia and, accordingly, the Russian language in the DPRK. The parties discussed the possibility of establishing the Center for Open Education in Russian and Russian language teaching in the DPRK. The head of the Korean ministry noted that there is interest among students to learn Russian.
As points of cooperation, the Minister of Education of the DPRK Kim Sung Du suggested teacher exchanges and organization of children's recreation and health improvement.
Sergei Kravtsov said that Russia is interested in the experience of the Korean side in the areas of preschool and pedagogical education, as well as patriotic education. He also spoke about the program "Russian Teacher Abroad", which provides an opportunity for teachers to teach in foreign schools.
The meeting was also attended by organizations subordinate to the Ministry of Education of Russia: Blagoveshchensk State Pedagogical University, A. I. Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University, Moscow State Pedagogical University and the Center for International Cooperation.
The meeting was held in Pavilion No. 57 "Education" of the International RUSSIA EXPO, where the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergei Kravtsov gave the delegation of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea a tour, presenting the evolution of the Russian education system and its achievements.
The multimedia exposition "Education. Big Changes" is divided into 19 thematic zones and represents an immersive journey through time. The Minister of Education of the Russian Federation introduced the Korean guests to the Russian education systems of the Soviet period and the 1990s. The delegation also visited the spaces "Ministry of the Future", "Kindergarten" and "School", as well as the section devoted to the modern system of vocational guidance of schoolchildren. In addition, the guests toured the Childhood Center of Pavilion No. 57 and the exposition dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the birth of the first Russian Emperor Peter the Great.
