National Centre RUSSIA congratulates the residents of the
Republic of Mari El on the 105th anniversary of the republic's establishment.
On 4 November, this region was designated as the Mari Autonomous Region.
The Republic of Mari El is famous for its picturesque
landscapes, magnificent pine forests and unique architectural monuments. Its
unofficial name is the "Mari people's country". People come to this
region for inspiration, active recreation and ecotourism, spiritual rebooting
and cultural enjoyment. Mineral springs and mud resorts are very popular among
tourists.
"Over the past few years, we have noticed a steadily
growing travelers' interest in our region. An unofficial title of “the last
pagans of Europe", the region's distinctive forests and lakes, and Mari
national customs are all a magnet for tourists from all over Russia. I myself
witnessed with what genuine admiration the guests to the International RUSSIA
EXPO looked at the Monisto art object at our stand, which was the epitome of
Mari traditional culture. I am convinced that the "Journey Across
Russia" exposition is an exceptional platform for popularising regions in
terms of cultural interaction and stimulating domestic tourism," said Yuri
Zaitsev, Head of the Republic of Mari El.
You can start your trip to Mari El from Yoshkar-Ola. It
features both pre-revolutionary buildings and an unusual mosaic of
architectural references to different cities around the world. In the capital
of Mari El, you can see the features of Moscow, Belgian Bruges, Italian
Florence, and other cities.
It is best to start planning a trip with a visit to the
National Centre RUSSIA. The region is represented here as part of the Volga
Federal District. An interactive guided tour of the key sights of Mari El and a
powerful charge of inspiration are at guests' disposal for free!
