The National Centre RUSSIA congratulates the Perm Region on its Day
Today, 1 December, the Perm region marks its Day. One of the youngest federal subjects of Russia united the former Perm region and the Komi-Permyak Autonomous Region.
The region rightfully bears the title of "the backbone territory of the state". This was shared with the Press Office of the National Centre RUSSIA by the Governor of the Perm region, Dmitry Makhonin.
"In our region, modern artillery systems and aircraft engines are developed and manufactured; we hold leading positions in chemistry, mechanical engineering, robotics, and mineral extraction, and our region is home to one of the largest jewels of the Kama region subsoil — the Verkhnekamskoye potash deposit. At the same time, it is important to remember that all developments and achievements are made thanks to our people — our brilliant scientists and engineers, and heads of enterprises who, even in the most difficult years for the country, found resources to develop production and master breakthrough technologies," said Dmitry Makhonin.
The Governor paid special attention to the symbolism of the festive date. He recalled that the unification of the two regions was a decision made by the residents themselves, which over the years has proven its validity.
"The past years show that the Perm region has become a strong, developing subject. We have gained new opportunities to implement social and infrastructure projects in all municipalities. Our goal is to create equal opportunities for all our fellow countrymen to receive quality medical care and education, engage in sports near their homes, and attend cultural events," added Dmitry Makhonin.
The anniversary celebration coincides with the 100th anniversary of the Komi-Permyak region, which is why 2025 was declared the Year of the Komi-Permyak Language in the region: "It is important for us to preserve the unique history and culture of the region, to introduce young people to it, and we are glad that numerous guests from the region and the country have shared this significant holiday with us."
The Perm region was widely represented at the International RUSSIA EXPO, which, according to Dmitry Makhonin, attracted many new tourists to the region.
"We saw enormous interest in our region from Russians; people started coming to us for holidays. The National Centre RUSSIA is the logical continuation of that EXPO. It awakens interest in travel and pride for one's home region and the entire country," concluded the head of the region.
The National Centre RUSSIA invites everyone to the multimedia exposition "Journey Across Russia". In the zone dedicated to the Volga Federal District, the cultural features, main achievements, and natural landmarks of the Perm region are widely presented. It is a land where the unity of history, traditions, and modern technologies creates a unique foundation for the future.
