The National Centre RUSSIA congratulates the Leningrad region on Region Day
The Leningrad region celebrates its 98th anniversary on August 1. It was established as a result of the 1927 administrative-territorial reform. Historically, it succeeded the St. Petersburg Governorate founded in 1708.
The Leningrad region forms part of the Northwestern Federal District, which is featured in the "Journey Across Russia" exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA.
"The history of our region is the story of people who worked and defended our homeland, created new things and always responded to others' suffering. Here we build our lives - we study, work, raise families, bring up children and always support each other. Here we dream about the future and create that future through our labor. Here we await the return of our defenders, care for their loved ones, and work toward victory. May the Leningrad region's history continue with new achievements by its residents," noted Alexander Drozdenko, Governor of the Leningrad region.
Visitors can attend guided tours of the "Journey Across Russia" exposition free of charge with prior registration. All details are available on the National Centre RUSSIA website in the "Events" section.
