The international campaign "Victory Dictation" took place in Moscow on April 25 across 497 venues, with the main one being the National Centre RUSSIA. More than 28,000 people took part in the campaign.

In the Year of the 80th Anniversary of Victory, the "United Russia" party held the international historical and educational campaign for the seventh time. The "Victory Dictation" by United Russia, as noted by Party Chairman Dmitry Medvedev, became the largest in its history. The historical test was written at more than 35,000 venues in Russia and in over 90 countries around the world. The central federal venue traditionally became the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow. The 497 dictation venues throughout the capital allowed residents to choose the most convenient location.

At the National Centre RUSSIA, more than 120 people took the test on national history. Among the participants were deputies of the State Duma and the Moscow City Duma, Chair of the Regional Council of Supporters of the United Russia party in Moscow Vera Stepanenko, Chair of the Public Council of the "Historical Memory" party project in Moscow Natalia Melyanovskaya, and the Military Commissioner of the Zamoskvoretsky District of the Central Administrative District of Moscow, Colonel Alexei Buyanov.

"The 'Victory Dictation' campaign, held as part of the federal project 'Historical Memory' by 'United Russia,' is one of the most important elements in preserving and strengthening the truth about our country’s history in the public consciousness. The peoples of the Soviet Union paid a colossal price for that Great Victory. Millions of lost lives demand very little from us — the present descendants of the Heroes of that time. To remember and to honor their feat. The feat of a generation that bore the burden of the most devastating war in world history," noted Deputy Secretary of Moscow's United Russia and State Duma Deputy Yevgeny Nifantyev. "The 'Historical Memory' project carries, first and foremost, an educational and moral mission. Today, the work of preserving historical truth is more relevant than ever. We will manage to preserve and defend the memory of our Heroes, our heroic people, and our great Russia!" said Yevgeny Nifantyev.

In today’s world, when our opponent on all fronts is trying to distort the past and rewrite history for their own benefit, such a campaign as the "Victory Dictation" serves as a powerful weapon on the ideological front to preserve historical truth and safeguard memory for future generations, emphasized Hero of Russia and Moscow City Duma Deputy Arkady Korolkov. He, along with his party colleagues, took part in the campaign at the venue of the National Centre RUSSIA.

"The 'Victory Dictation' campaign unites millions of people — people who are proud of and remember their country’s history, who strive to carry this knowledge forward and pass it on to their children and grandchildren. It is especially important that this year, in addition to the traditional tasks, a section dedicated to the special military operation was added. This is the very history that is being made right now on the battlefield. And we are immensely proud of those who are fighting for truth and a peaceful sky!" emphasized Moscow City Duma Deputy Alexei Kuchmin. "It is also encouraging that the number of participants continues to grow every year, both in online and offline formats, in Russia and beyond," said Arkady Korolkov.

At the National Centre RUSSIA, as well as at all 12 district dictation venues, branded mailboxes provided by Russian Post were installed. As part of the "Letter to a Hero" campaign, participants wrote over a thousand letters filled with warm words of support for servicemen involved in the special military operation. With the assistance of Russian Post, all the heartfelt messages will soon be delivered to the front line.

"Today we have cadets here, and very, very young children — those who will go on to build our country, to defend it, and to shape the future. And we are confident that they will follow the legacy entrusted to them by our great grandfathers. Today we are writing the dictation for the seventh time, and the number of venues keeps growing — today there are already 500. People are writing in theatres, in open-air locations, here, and at Poklonnaya Hill. They are writing abroad as well. It is very important that different generations have gathered here, and that means we lived, we live, and we will live in our great country," emphasized Yevgeny Gerasimov, regional coordinator of the "Historical Memory" party project and Moscow City Duma Deputy. He reminded that preserving historical memory is one of the key areas of the United Russia people's programme.

Yevgeny Gerasimov added that this year, more than 28,000 people participated in the "Victory Dictation" in Moscow — 12,000 more than last year, which is a positive trend. Every year, new and interesting venues are opened for the dictation, many of them at historical sites such as the Tsaritsyno and Ostafyevo museum-reserves, and the southern wing of the Prozorovsky–Beketova estate in Zyuzino. This year, the test could also be taken at the MosKino film park, the Central Academic Theatre of the Russian Army, the Salut cultural centre, the library of the Moscow Zoo and its branch Library No. 110 – Cultural Centre of Frontline Poets, at MPEI, the Museum of Cosmonautics, the Yauza eco-centre, the Izmailovsky Kremlin, and in schools.

More than 500 activists of the Moscow branch of the Young Guard of United Russia took part in the "Victory Dictation." They volunteered at more than 30 venues across Moscow and also took the test themselves.

"This year I wrote the test at the venue of the National Centre RUSSIA. Taking part in the campaign is one of the ways to preserve our history and not let it be distorted. Only knowledge can save us from amnesia. I am glad that more and more people join the campaign every year," said Alexander Lebedev, head of the Moscow branch of the Young Guard of United Russia.
