"Our strength lies in diversity": the Governor of the Kaliningrad Region on how the unity of Russia’s peoples transformed the region
During the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared by the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, the Governor of the country’s westernmost region shared what the strength of national unity personally means to him. Alexei Besprozvannykh spoke about this in an exclusive interview for The Press Office of the National Centre RUSSIA.
He recalled that the very history of the modern Kaliningrad region is a vivid example of the unity of the country’s peoples. According to Alexei Besprozvannykh, after the Great Victory people from all corners of the Soviet Union came to restore the new region, and today representatives of more than one hundred nationalities live in peace and harmony in the Kaliningrad region.
"Through the unity of our peoples and the consolidation of our shared efforts, in just 80 years we have built one of the most beautiful regions of our country. This is thanks to unity, thanks to love for our country and love for one another," Alexei Besprozvannykh is convinced.
The Governor of the Kaliningrad Region noted that the fraternal relations between the peoples of the country are gaining particular relevance today.
"Today, more than ever, this unity is extremely important to us, and today, more than ever, we are united in this unity for our common victory. And, undoubtedly, the unity of our peoples within the country is our key advantage over everyone else," the head of the region concluded.
The visit of the Governor of the Kaliningrad Region, Alexei Besprozvannykh, took place as part of the large-scale regional programme of the National Centre RUSSIA, "Region-2030". In addition, from 12 to 18 January, Kaliningrad Region Days were held at the venue. Guests were offered meetings with prominent representatives of the region, lectures, presentations, themed tours, and other events.
To truly get to know and understand Kaliningrad, it is not enough to see it — it must also be tasted.
