The National Centre RUSSIA helped with career choice: Young Tour Guides School graduates shared their opinions about the project
The educational programme of the Young Tour Guides School has concluded at the National Centre RUSSIA. All participants successfully completed the course and received certificates. The students learnt to speak clearly, beautifully and confidently, mastered techniques for communicating with audiences and the fundamentals of acting skills — those abilities essential for anyone who wants to conduct interesting and memorable tours.
They applied their acquired knowledge in practice: they conducted tours for the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, pilot-cosmonaut, Hero of Russia, president of the "Cosmonautics and Aviation" Centre at VDNH Fyodor Yurchikhin, blogger Maksim Anufriyev, Artek counsellors and members of their own families. Moreover, the students recorded radio adverts which now play on air at the National Centre.
School student Ksenia Chernova shared how participating in the project helped her overcome her fear of public speaking.
"I had major problems with being afraid to speak in public. I came to this project to learn many new things and, amongst other things, to conquer my fear. Now I've become much more confident. I think that public speaking skills will be useful to me in the future," Ksenia said.
She added that she is studying in Year 10 and plans to become a tour guide — the National Centre RUSSIA project helped her choose her future profession.
Another School graduate, Platon Pyatnitsky, noted that thanks to the project he made new friends and became more confident when communicating with the public.
"I conducted a tour of the 'Journey Across Russia' exposition, from which I remember most the Meteor 120R, which is presented in the Volga Federal District exposition. This is one of the striking examples of progress in water transport. It connects the key cities of the region," Platon said.
He added that this summer he dreams of going on a journey along the Volga and taking a ride on the Meteor.
The "Young Tour Guides School" project launched on February 1 at the National Centre RUSSIA as a continuation of the tradition established at the International RUSSIA EXPO.
