Unusual tourist routes: from the northern lights to extinct volcanoes at the "Journey Across Russia" exposition
The
"Journey Across Russia" exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA
presents unique and little-known tourist destinations across the country. The
exposition offers an opportunity to discover new travel possibilities in
Russia’s regions.
Arctic
Glamping with a View of the Northern Lights
One of the
most impressive areas of the exposition is the interactive zone dedicated to
the Northwestern Federal District, recreating the atmosphere of glamping on the
Kola Peninsula. This part of the Murmansk region, located between the Barents
and White Seas, offers unique opportunities for Arctic tourism.
"Popular
winter activities include dog sledding, snowmobiling, and visiting ice hotels.
In summer, tourists can go hiking or cycling in national parks, as well as
fishing in northern rivers and lakes. Visits to indigenous peoples, such as the
Saami and Nenets, allow visitors to get acquainted with their culture and
traditions," said Yelena Shatyrenok, a guide at the National Centre
RUSSIA.
The
northern lights can be observed on the Kola Peninsula from late August until
mid-April. This natural phenomenon has become one of the region’s main
attractions.
Extinct
Volcano of Kamchatka
The
exposition of the Far Eastern Federal District introduces visitors to
Vilyuchinskaya Sopka — an extinct stratovolcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula.
This picturesque site, standing 2,173 metres above sea level, attracts tourists
from around the world.
The volcano
has a perfect conical shape, and its slopes are covered with unique vegetation.
The summit offers panoramic views of the surroundings, making the climb
especially appealing to travellers.
Vilyuchinskaya
Sopka holds not only natural but also historical significance. Archaeological
finds at its base testify to ancient settlements, while local legends tell of
mysterious creatures living in the area.
The
"Journey Across Russia" exposition at the National Centre RUSSIA
continues to introduce visitors to the country’s unique tourism opportunities.
The exposition is open for visits until the end of October.
Admission
to the exposition "Journey Across Russia" is free as part of guided
tour groups, which are formed in advance on the russia.ru website in the
"Events" section.
The team of the National Centre RUSSIA, headed by Director General Natalia Virtuozova, visited the Khabarovsk Territory on a working trip.
From 17 to 21 May, the National Centre RUSSIA will present its flagship project, Department Store RUSSIA, at the 10th Russia-China EXPO in Harbin for the first time.
Preserving the writer’s creative legacy is also an important part of the mission of the National Centre RUSSIA.
