"Unrivaled masterpiece": ballet critic Alexander Maksov praised "The Nutcracker" at the National Centre RUSSIA
Ballet
critic and columnist for the magazine "PRO Dance," Alexander Maksov,
attended the festive premiere of "The Nutcracker" in multimedia sets,
held at the National Centre RUSSIA. The new version of the performance combines
modern special effects and animated elements with classical Russian ballet and
Tchaikovsky’s great music.
"There
are many versions of 'The Nutcracker' in our country; no theater can do without
this production. But there are two canonical performances that remain unrivaled
masterpieces of ballet art. One is Grigorovich's ballet, which has been
performed at the Bolshoi Theatre for many decades without losing its relevance.
The second is the performance staged by Vasily Vainonen, which we all witnessed
today. It is a very vivid and highly artistic work," noted Alexander
Maksov.
Among the
attendees of the premiere were the soloist of "Ivanushki International,"
Kirill Andreyev, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev,
renowned ballet master and teacher, Bolshoi Theatre soloist from 1979 to 1997,
Merited Artist of the RSFSR, and People's Artist of Russia Alexander Vetrov,
among other guests.
The
audience highly praised the production and thanked the National Centre RUSSIA
for the opportunity to experience the legendary ballet ahead of the New Year.
