Nikolai Krupatin: "The Sacred War" is the song that united the country
Music plays an important role in Russia's history,
influencing public mood and cohesion. Through emotion, it has the power to
unite people and become a great source of support at pivotal moments – just as
it happened with a song named "The Sacred War" during the Great
Patriotic War. This was discussed by blogger with a million-strong following,
songwriter, creative producer of "Yug Molodoy" ("Young
South") radio station, composer and sound producer Nikolai Krupatin.
In his view, "The Sacred War" song served as a
powerful mobilising factor during the Great Patriotic War.
"Sometimes people tell me that music is just a melody
that you simply listen to. I reply: yes, we listen to it, but it's not limited
to that. Music evokes emotions, and it is emotions that govern our desires.
When a person is in a relaxed and pleasant state, they are particularly
receptive. A vivid example is 'The Sacred War,' which united the country during
the Great Patriotic War and helped maintain resilience. Such is the power of music
and its creator when it comes from the soul," explained Nikolai Krupatin.
He also noted the important role of musical creativity in
preserving and transmitting cultural heritage. According to him, music has on
many occasions provided a reason for dialogue between countries.
The red carnation in Russia is a symbol that cannot be mistaken for anything else, especially in the run-up to Victory Day.
