Nikolai Shulginov spoke about Russia's energy strategy until 2050 at the RUSSIA EXPO
Russia's energy strategy until 2050 may be approved in the summer, Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov said at a press conference held on Energy Day at the RUSSIA EXPO.
"There is already a working draft of the energy strategy, we are discussing it with the expert community, with departments. Our proposal is to slightly shift the timing of its adoption, based on the upcoming events - elections, formation of the Government - in order to approve the document at the beginning of the half-year, in June. We are working on it," said the Head of the Ministry of Energy.
The Minister of Energy answered journalists' questions about the timing of the launch of the energy market in the Far East. According to him, the final conciliation meeting is expected in the near future.
Also, the possible extension of the TPP modernization program was discussed at the press conference.
"It is definitely necessary to extend the program. By the end of the year, we will decide on this, I think. The extension period is about 10 years, the program implies large volumes and long-term projects," said Nikolai Shulginov.
In addition, the Minister said that today Russia's domestic fuel market is balanced.
"We have increased production of Class 5 gasoline at other refineries and balanced supply and demand by reducing exports. Therefore, the market is balanced even taking into account the gasoline reserves that we have today," he explained.
