"Once upon a time I…": creating a shared future at the National Centre RUSSIA
On 7 February, the National Centre RUSSIA will host the Open Lecture Hall "Inventing the Future: Plots and Stories". As part of the programme, the space has been adorned with the interactive installation "Once upon a time", dedicated to the practice of storytelling.
"Your personal ‘Once upon a time I…’ is only the beginning. Here, at the National Centre RUSSIA, hundreds of threads intertwine, turning into ‘Once upon a time we…’," said the Director General of the National Centre RUSSIA, Natalia Virtuozova.
Almost all fairy tales and stories begin with the simple word "once", after which an extraordinary plot unfolds and a new world emerges. The National Centre RUSSIA invites guests to continue this phrase in the form of a text or drawing and add their note to the installation space.
In this way, a collective narrative is formed, woven from personal ideas, memories and visions of our future.
Let’s create the future together!
The Open Lecture Hall "Inventing the Future: Plots and Stories" is an original project of the National Centre RUSSIA. On 7 February, leading Russian and international visionaries will discuss what the lifestyle and mindset of the person of tomorrow may look like, how storytelling works in education, advertising, cinema and video games, and will also present gastronomic formats of the future through masterclasses by chefs. The events will be accompanied by the storyteller character Alice from the future — the symbol of the project "Inventing the Future".
On the eve of the Day of Russian Science, the National Centre RUSSIA, together with the Russian Science Foundation, is expanding the project "Discovering Worlds".
Producer, screenwriter and director from the United States, Mehret Mandefro, will take part in the Open Lecture Hall "Inventing the Future: Plots and Stories".
Every appearance in the octagon is not just a sporting contest, but a symbol of national pride.
