On May 30, the Main Street Stage hosted the tournament "Born by Siberia". Two groups competed in the mastery of Russian folk instruments: the ensemble of Russian folk instruments of the Irkutsk Regional Philharmonic "Baikal-Quartet" and the quartet of Russian folk instruments of the Omsk Philharmonic "Tarskiye Vorota" ("Tara Gates").

The musicians demonstrated to the visitors the possibilities of Russian folk instruments, which can play any kind of music. The artists performed works in such musical genres as Russian folk music, folk-pop, rock and jazz.

"Today's event with the participation of two wonderful collectives is a unique experience. It can even be called a sibling rivalry rather than a tournament. During the opening days of the Exposition, these groups have already competed with each other - the audience and organizers liked it so much that now the artists are performing on the Main Street Stage! I should also note that last year the concert programs of the Omsk and Irkutsk regions were recognized as the best at the Exposition," said Yuri Trofimov, Minister of Culture of the Omsk region.

The ensemble of Russian folk instruments of the Irkutsk Regional Philharmonic "Baikal-Quartet" and the quartet of Russian folk instruments of the Omsk Philharmonic "Tarskiye Vorota" are unique collectives, emphasized Yuri Trofimov.

"They can perform any kind of music using folk instruments: from classical and jazz to modern arrangements of folk melodies. They amaze not only Siberians, but also spectators far beyond Siberia with their skills," Yuri Trofimov pointed out.

At the end of the event, the guests were asked to determine the winners in two nominations. According to the voting results, the quartet of Russian folk instruments of the Omsk Philharmonic "Tarskiye Vorota" was recognized as the best ensemble, and the ensemble of Russian folk instruments of the Irkutsk Regional Philharmonic "Baikal-Quartet" received the audience choice award.
