From "Terkin" to eternity: creative legacy of Tvardovsky to be discussed at the National Centre RUSSIA
The traditional cultural and educational Thursday will take place at the National Centre RUSSIA on June 26. As part of the original literary club "What to Read?!", an event will be held to mark the 115th anniversary of the birth of Russian writer Alexander Tvardovsky.
Writer, poet, and publicist Alexander Tvardovsky served as a special war correspondent throughout the Great Patriotic War. Together with guest speakers, attendees of the literary evening will explore Tvardovsky’s work, which reflects deep patriotism and love for both his great and small Motherland. The audience will discuss the significance of Tvardovsky’s works for the Russian literature and their role in shaping national identity.
Particular attention will be given to the analysis of the poem "Vasily Terkin," which conveys the strength of spirit and heroism of ordinary people through epic and lyrical verse.
The club "What to Read?!" was established at the National Centre RUSSIA as an intellectual platform for literary discussion, idea exchange, and the development of strategic thinking. Its focus lies in promoting a culture of reading, fostering meaningful writing, and expanding the space for public dialogue.
