To make rivers and lakes healthier, to introduce water-saving technologies: the meeting of the Board of Federal Agency for Water Resources will be held at the National Centre RUSSIA
An extended Board meeting of the Federal Agency for Water Resources will be held at the
National Centre RUSSIA on August 8. The focus will be on the main vectors of
development of the Agency, and of the Russian water-management sector.
One of the
main issues that the participants will discuss will be the implementation of
the new federal project "Water of Russia". Its goal is to improve
living conditions near water bodies for 23.2 million people by the end of 2030.
Environmental measures under the project include construction and
reconstruction of sewage treatment plants, cleaning up riverbeds and
strengthening the banks, and restoration of lakes and reservoirs.
The meeting
will also raise issues of improving the health of rivers and lakes, the use of
water-saving technologies, and the prospects for development of the industry.
The main speakers will be Dmitry Patrushev,
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Maxim Korolkov, Deputy
Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation, and Dmitry
Kirillov, Head of the Federal Agency for Water Resources.
The meeting
will also be attended by representatives of federal and regional executive
authorities, the central office, territorial bodies and subordinate
organizations of Rosvodresurs, heads of the Russian Federation constituent
entities, and other distinguished guests.
A solemn
ceremony of awarding departmental awards will be held during the Board meeting.
