Parks of the future: major hackathon at the National Centre RUSSIA to unite young architects from across the country
From July 16 to 18, the National Centre RUSSIA, in collaboration with the Government of the Donetsk People's Republic, will host the "Architectural Hackathon" — a large-scale event for young architects and students from architectural universities across Russia. The main objective is to engage young professionals in the development and creation of modern architectural solutions aimed at shaping the new identity of historical territories.
The theme of the Hackathon is "The cultural code of historical regions through the lens of park environments." More than 70 students from Russian architecture faculties and universities will work on projects for park redevelopment and create a concept for a visual code that reflects the spirit and atmosphere of each historical region of the country. The specific sites — Patriot Park (DPR), the city park of Molodogvardeysk (LPR), the Central Alley of Skadovsk (Kherson region), and the Gorky Park of Culture and Leisure in Melitopol (Zaporozhye region) — were selected by the organisers in cooperation with the regional ministries of construction.
The three-day educational programme for young architects will include lectures on working with neural networks and small architectural forms, workshops on creating 3D models and lighting design for park environments, and a number of other activities.
The key events of the business programme will be two panel discussions: "Architectural and urban planning identity of Russia: the role of society, business and government in shaping the visual code" and "Russia of the future: visual code and architectural legacy." Regional governors, representatives of relevant ministries, and experts from the fields of education, science and business will discuss the future of Russia’s architectural image and summarise the results of the Hackathon.
For the first time, the architectural exposition "The Birth of Scale" at the National Centre RUSSIA hosted a family tour with quiz elements titled "Architecture – the world we live in."
The II All-Russian Wedding Festival was held at the National Centre RUSSIA and featured official marriage ceremonies for over 200 couples.
