In the middle of the exposition "Region-2030. The Platform of the Future" of the National Centre RUSSIA, a model of an experimental 2-3-2B high-speed locomotive has been installed. This locomotive embodies progress, energy and positive changes for the whole of Russia, as well as sets the tone for the entire display.

The 2-3-2B steam locomotive is a record holder — it is the fastest and most powerful locomotive which was the first to reach a speed of 175 km/h. It was made in 1938 at the Lugansk (Voroshilovgrad) plant. Its silhouette and futuristic design, which has not lost its relevance today, embodies the movement forward and faith in a bright future. Although the Great Patriotic War ruined its future, the memory of the country's achievements remains in every generation, and is carefully kept by the National Centre RUSSIA.

The historical locomotive showcased at the expo serves not just as an exhibit, but as a key interactive element. Thus, guests can embark on a virtual journey across the regions of Russia on a steam locomotive, which for centuries has been a symbol of progress and aspirations for the future.

The exposition "Region-2030. The Platform of the Future" tells the visitors about how the railway and the steam locomotive became the foundation of the modern economic structure and the future of the regions of Russia. The display is open to visitors from 2 September. Admission is free of charge upon prior registration on the website russia.ru.
