Reciprocal Days of Russia and Uzbekistan to mark the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations
The National Centre RUSSIA and the Centre for Islamic
Civilisation in Tashkent have agreed to hold the Reciprocal Days of Russia and
Uzbekistan. Cultural, educational and business events will form part of the
celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic
relations between the two countries. The announcement was made at the
International Media Forum "Islamic Civilisation: A New Perspective — New
Discoveries", currently being held in the capital of Uzbekistan.
In April 2026, the National Centre and the Centre for Islamic Civilisation
signed a cooperation agreement on the sidelines of the INNOPROM. Tashkent
exposition. The document provides for cooperation in the humanitarian and
cultural spheres, the implementation of joint projects and the development of
dialogue between Russia and Uzbekistan.
In particular, the National Centre RUSSIA proposed presenting the musical and
choreographic parable "Round Dance", featuring Russian and Uzbek
performers, in Uzbekistan. An evening of Uzbek culture featuring the country's
leading artistic groups may be held in Moscow. Education will be a separate
focus of the programme. Russian and Uzbek historians, art historians and
cultural experts will be able to hold joint lectures and discussions dedicated
to the historical ties between the two countries, their cultural legacy and
shared traditions.
The 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between
Russia and Uzbekistan will be celebrated in March 2027. The programme will bring
together cultural, educational, youth and business events in both countries.
