First aid and self-defence: teachers acquired new skills at the National Centre RUSSIA
More than 500 teachers gained valuable practical experience at the interactive venue of the Voin (Warrior) Centre during the All-Russian Homeroom Teachers' Forum and the School Principals' Forum. They practised first aid skills using a modern training simulator and learned about methods of countering UAVs with the help of virtual reality technologies. The event is being held at the National Centre RUSSIA from 30 September to 2 October.
The first aid zone attracted particular interest. Under the guidance of instructors, teachers practised cardiopulmonary resuscitation procedures using the Leonardo training robot. Participants noted the importance of this knowledge in helping children develop safe behaviour skills.
"It is teachers and mentors who are the main guides to new knowledge for the younger generation. Today, we gave homeroom teachers tools that will help them expand these skills and pass on their experience to their students. We are pleased to see that teachers enthusiastically embraced even the most complex, technology-driven disciplines that are in demand among young people," commented Dmitry Shevchenko, Director of the Voin Centre.
In the unmanned systems zone, guests practised operating UAVs on simulators. VR headsets allowed them to explore drone countermeasure technologies in a virtual environment. Participants were also able to test their accuracy at a laser shooting range. The interactive format helped teachers not only learn about modern teaching technologies, but also try them out in practice.
The Voin Centre was established on the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation on 1 December 2022. Its mission is to train a new generation of patriots who love their Motherland and know how to defend it. The Centre's branches operate in all federal districts.
