Singer Aniri: "The play 'Morozko' is a true New Year’s miracle!"
The first audiences of the multi‑genre play
"Morozko", which premiered on 27 December at the National Centre
RUSSIA, shared their impressions. Among them was Aniri, a Russian singer,
blogger, songwriter and mother of five children. She attended the performance
with her 14‑year‑old daughter and said she wanted
to bring all her children to see it. The singer was delighted and urged
everyone to watch the play during the New Year holidays.
"We sang and danced along with the entire audience.
It’s very engaging and vibrant for children. We journeyed through various fairy
tales. I think after watching the play, children will go home and start re‑reading
and re‑watching
our good old fairy tales. "Morozko" is a very vibrant production. The
actors’s performances were so mesmerising that I wanted to step onto the stage
and become part of the action. It’s wonderful how well the interaction with the
audience has been thought through," said Aniri. "I recommend every
parent to see "Morozko" — a modern interpretation of our fairy tale.
Not only children but also adults will be delighted. It’s a true New Year’s
miracle."
According to the singer, the collaboration of different
genres, familiar songs, music and multimedia scenery delighted the audience.
"The hour and a half flew by in one breath," she noted.
The premiere of the multi‑genre play "Morozko" at
the National Centre left audiences with only positive emotions. The production
combined opera, ballet, folk dance, contemporary choreography, music and
special effects, creating a unique world of a Russian fairy tale unlike
anything else.
Other audience members also shared their impressions. For
instance, young Mikhail was impressed by the dances of the fairy‑tale
characters: "I really enjoyed it and would love to come again to
experience those beautiful moments once more. I especially liked the Firebird’s
dance and Baba Yaga’s dances with her team. I invite everyone to this beautiful
event. Happy New Year!"
Victoria Shmeleva also loved the production. She said the
play was well‑structured, with all the accents properly placed.
"Everything here has been thought through: the classical structure blends
with modern rhythms, special effects, dances, folk songs, ballet and opera. What’s
especially pleasing is that this is a children’s play, and children can connect
with our culture, feel proud of it and admire it. Absolutely thrilling!"
Marina Simonova attended the premiere with her daughter and
son. Watching the play gave the family vivid and emotional impressions.
"This isn’t our first time at the National Centre
RUSSIA. We’ve attended various events, but this is our first time seeing such a
fairy‑tale
production. What I liked most was the multi‑genre nature of 'Morozko'. The
blend of formats — modernity and classical ballet — is unusual and beautiful.
By the way, our family also has an interesting tradition. We don’t like
artificial Christmas trees. We prefer the natural scent of a real pine tree.
Every year, the whole family decorates it beautifully," said Marina
Simonova.
As part of the "New Year Russia" project, the
National Centre RUSSIA is hosting the author’s multi‑genre play
"Morozko". Audiences saw the premiere on 27 December 2025. The play
will be shown again on 28 and 30 December, as well as from 6 to 11 January and
on 14 January 2026. Admission is free — you just need to register on the
National Centre RUSSIA website. You can select a suitable date in the
"Events" section.
One of the leading roles in the production was performed by Bolshoi Theatre prima ballerina Kristina Kretova.
The "Morozko" performance is designed for audiences of all ages and will be engaging for children, grandparents, mothers, and fathers alike.
Alexander Alimov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, shared his impressions of the production.
